| | Network Monitoring and Performance Tuning |
|
IVA provides network monitoring and optimization for Headends. During our installation we will monitor, troubleshoot and fine-tune your router in the early stages of development. Network activity can influence the performance not only in UBR, but also your other network devices, hence we also monitor these resources along with network activity. |
| |
When monitoring performance data for your Headend we begin with the lowest-level components and work our way up. We can monitor these objects over period of time. Using this data, we determine a performance baseline (A performance baseline gives us a point from which to compare performance over time to identify growth trends, changing demands, or the emergency of a bottleneck), under the level of performance you expect typical workloads and usage. If performance within the baseline range becomes unsatisfactory, we then tune the network.
|
| |
As with other resources we establish a baseline for network performance. When performance data is incompatible with your baseline values, we investigate the cause. Abnormal network counter data values on the UBR often indicate problems with the router’s memory, flash memory, processor, or upstream and downstream cards. For that reason, our approach is to monitor UBR initially in real time using IOS debug commands and export our data findings to performance logs. |
| |
With performance logs and alerts, we collect performance data automatically from the UBR. Thereafter view logged counter data; this gives us the ability to export the data to spreadsheet programs for databases, for analysis and report generation. |
| |
We collect data in a comma-delimited or tab-separated format for easy import to spreadsheet programs. We also provided a binary log-file format for circular logging. |
|
In addition, we view counter data during the collection and after the collection has stopped. And, define start and stop times, file names, file sizes and other parameters for automatic log generation. |

Network Support |
| |
IVA provides several resources to support its client’s operations:
|
Tier 1 & ll support
Trouble Ticket System
Escalation Process |
| |
Once UBR installation is operating successfully, our network engineers can provide ongoing support for Headend equipment, UBR peripherals, and IOS configuration in addition to other components, such as Catalyst Switches, C6U’s, and IRT’s. |
| |
In addition to RF expertise, we are well versed in multiple routing platforms IP, IPX, Apple talk, NETBUI, OSPF, BGPv4, EIGRP, RIP V 1, V2. Our engineers also can oversee and monitor systems that route based on OSPF, BGP, and RIP standards. |
| |
Beyond the nuts-and-bolts of network Headend administration, our team is qualified to handle all interactions with hardware and software vendors related to the necessary service and support for the Headend environment. |
| |
In this role, we are committed to pinpointing and resolving any and all technical issues related to the operation and maintenance of the network in a timely manner. |
